July 2, 2010, Newsletter Issue #256: Black Sheep Location Drill

Tip of the Week

Hereīs a good drill for getting your players to look up and "hit īem where they ainīt." Designate one player as the "black sheep." Have a coach toss the ball to the other side, and have a 6-person team run a play. But instead of just blasting away, have the hitters push the ball to wherever the black sheep may be. Have the black sheep slowly wander around the court, to make the other side have to keep looking.

Itīs a great drill for getting your team to think before the wail away.
